The full-cycle gas plant, which entered commercial operation on Dec. 6, processes dry feed gas from Badra field, that will be shipped via a 100-km pipeline to the Az-Zubaidiya power station to supply electric power to provinces throughout Iraq as well as to the country’s capital city of Bagdad, Gazprom Neft said.

More and more merchant ships that are fueled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) enter the market. LNG tanks of different sizes are installed on those ships depending on the operation profile that these ships are designed for.

Reciprocating compressor solutions offer best in class fuel gas control due to the insensitivity of this technology to dynamic suction or discharge pressure and mass flow changes, gas temperatures and gas composition. LNG bunker vessels are used for refueling LNG-powered vessels at sea. Since gas evaporates continuously from the LNG, the tank pressure increases and must be controlled within the tank design pressure specifications. Burckhardt Compression’s Marine Compressor solutions offer easy and efficient BOG handling while dealing with limited space.

Typically the BOG is fed into different processes:

• Re-liquefaction
• Fuel gas supply for auxiliary equipment such as dual-fuel engine gensets or gas combustion units.
• Minimum send-out (MSO) applications (minimum agreed amount of gas continuously fed into the gas distribution grid).
